Dentist – Composite Veneers

  • ⁃  Check occlusion first – more labial than tooth, out of occlusion on palatal
  • ⁃  Use composite buttons for shade (Incisal for enamel, cervical for dentine) – if unsure take photo
  • ⁃  Palatal set-back tooth – dentine shade first, make sure enamel shade thickness the same on all teeth
  • ⁃  Discolored tooth – use opaquer
  • ⁃  TCA, sandblast, etch & bond (full surface)
  • ⁃  add bulk composite (create U)
  • ⁃  flat plastic to adapt composite interproximal
  • ⁃  push in Centre
  • ⁃  tack cure
  • ⁃  place Centre composite & push labial
  • ⁃  polish palatal
  • ⁃  adjust length/ cant
  • ⁃  polish buccal to follow smile arc
  • ⁃  buccal 3rds
  • ⁃  line angles (draw ideal and keep correcting)
  • ⁃  flame bur interproximal (do in one stroke, anti clockwise less gauge)
  • ⁃  draw two grooves/ lobes and use fat flat fissure
  • ⁃  Soflex discs need to be used in sequence, super high polish – run through steps twice
  • ⁃  Check from all angles, check occlusion before polishing palatal
  • ⁃  Adjust lower teeth if needed
  • ⁃  Heavy grinder – chemist mouth guard immediately
