- ⁃ Show patient veneers (be excited!!)
- ⁃ Explain process to pt
- ⁃ Remove temps (flick off or cut off no water)
- ⁃ Try in veneers for fit
- ⁃ Try in with try-in paste
- ⁃ Take photo, upload, ‘edit’ to see cant
- ⁃ Photos on screen & show patient, allow pt to see in different lighting
- ⁃ Allow patient to take pics, give feedback. Encourage pt to send pics to family/partner/friend
- ⁃ Try second cement
- ⁃ Pt to Sign consent
- ⁃ Numb up
- ⁃ Ivoclean veneers (rub in & wash off)
- ⁃ Bond onto veneers & air dry, cover with paper towel
- ⁃ Sandblast teeth (away from gums)
- ⁃ Rinse off sand from optragate etc change gloves before touching triplex
- ⁃ TCA around gums
- ⁃ Etch (lower half of tooth first)
- ⁃ Microprime (rub in & air dry), 2 coats
- ⁃ Teflon around terminal tooth
- ⁃ Turn off light
- ⁃ Bond teeth, 2 coats (air dry well)
- ⁃ Apply cement to veneer, nurse to call out tooth number as they pass veneer to dentist
- ⁃ Place veneers onto all teeth
- ⁃ Wipe away excess cement with micro brush, can use triplex to blow air interprox (must hold veneers down)
- ⁃ Hold veneers down, Tac cure for 3 secs
- ⁃ Floss, can ask nurse to hold veneer down and cervically. Only go into contact, not near gum, don’t want bleeding
- ⁃ Remove Teflon before full cure
- ⁃ Semi cure – alternate teeth 10 seconds per tooth from buccal then palatal for 10 secs. Helps prevent over heating tooth. Room light can go back on before this stage
- ⁃ Add flowable at margins if needed
- ⁃ Glycerin along margins & full cure 20 sec each tooth. Then a final 10 sec on each surface. Want 40 secs of curing on each surface by the end
- ⁃ Clean cement excess: use 12 blade, angle around gum line. Try get all cement off now while pt is numb. Interprox serrated strip to the gum to break open contacts. Use strip with circles (calculus remover, non cutting)
- ⁃ Use yellow band football bur to polish excess cement around margins and flatten any steps
- ⁃ check centric occlusion using blue articulating paper. Make sure no contact on occlusal/palatal margin and no contact on veneer
- ⁃ Use red articulating paper and ask pt to chew on left and chew on right then on anterior teeth. Any drag marks that are not directly over the blue centric marks need to be removed. Remove all red on porcelain (no blue or red on porcelain veneers)
- ⁃ Check for any cement one more time
- ⁃ Sit patient up and check occlusion all over again
- ⁃ Scan for splint
- ⁃ Warn pt that they might have bits of cement come off over next few days
